Why do I keep getting stretch marks?
I used to yo-yo diet alot, and I got covered in stretch marks.Now my weight fluctuates by about 3 pounds day to day and I keep getting stretch marks, all over my body, is this cause by the three pound fluctuations??.I always make sure I eat the EXACT same number of calories to each day to avoid fluctuations but it doesn't work, I weight myself every day because if I don't my weight and stretch marks go crazy. How come this doesn't happen to other people? my skin gets steadily worse every day and more creases and wrinkles appear on my hands and face and I'm only 20.How is it htat other people manage to keep their weight the same without scales or counting calories but I eat the EXACT same calories every day but fluctuate and therefor get more stretch marks. pppppppppppllllllllllllllllllleeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaassssssseeeeeeee help me!!
I am 8.5 stone now but fluctuate beetween 8.4 and 8.7.I have never been above 9.4 stone but I have had anorexia in the past.
The stretch marks have to do with the elasticity of your skin. Some people have less elasticity (or stretch factor) and therefore get more stretch marks.
But on the issue of weighing yourself everyday... that's not a good thing to do. It will drive you nuts! lol. But if you HAVE to do it... make sure you do it at the same time and under the same conditions everyday. For example, only weigh yourself first thing in the morning, without clothes, before you've eaten, and after you've.. ahem... "relieved" yourself... if ya know what I mean.
Otherwise, if you weigh yourself on an empty stomach one day, then weigh after you've eaten on the next day... your weight will be different. Even the type of clothing you're wearing can make a big difference in weight.
Oh... and drink lots of water. That's always good for the skin. And if you're anything like me, you might tend to retain water... most women do. Even though it kinda makes no sense... drinking more water will help with that water weight. If your body is properly hydrated, it won't retain (or hold on to) the water so much.
